What Is Undersea Walk in Mauritius?
Undersea Walk® Ltd is a shallow water undersea tourist activity using solar energy completely unrelated to scuba diving.
This activity is a form of helmet diving using a “free flow” air supply i.e. air pumped through a hose from the surface flows freely into the helmet at a constant volume all the time unlike scuba diving where air from a self contained cylinder is delivered only on demand.

The helmet, designed by Undersea Walk in Mauritius, receives a supply of fresh air from a bank of solar powered electric compressors, so participants are able to descend a ladder from the platform and Seawalk on the sandy bottom of the lagoon of Mauritius Island.
Swimming is not a necessity for this activity so it is open to all non-‐swimmers in Mauritius. Because the helmet keeps the head dry at all times those who wear glasses or contact lenses can also engage in this under the sea walk experience.
